Jim was born and raised in San Francisco. He has spent many years in the Military a decorated Vietnam Veteran receiving the Bronze Star and Meritorious Unit Commendation from President Nixon. In the military he learned Discipline and Leadership to work as a team to get the job done He is also a Natural World Class Bodybuilding Champion who won the 2008 East Bay Bodybuilding Contest and competed in the prestigious 2008 Olympia winning the Olympia Medal. Jim's Gardening & Landscaping service is amazing. They did a fantastic job on my small backyard that was overgrown with weeds. Jim promptly responded to my quote, and was very helpful and informative over the phone. He wasted no time setting up an appointment to come take a look. It was clear from the start that my satisfaction was important to him and his team. I thought that price quoted in person was very fair, considering other quotes I had gotten from both casual acquaintances, and Redbeacon vendors. The job was completed over 2 days, first to remove the weeds, then to install new grass. The teams performing the work on both days were fast, polite, efficient, and friendly. Part 2 even had to be delayed a couple weeks because of weather. Luis (the excellent on-site team leader. A+!) was concerned that a few days of rain might drown the new grass and flood the backyard. They could have just done it all and been paid right away, but they were more concerned about my satisfaction in the long term. I thought this was great. Then, as the rain stretched on for several weeks (SF in December!) Jim & Luis would periodically be in contact to let me know they hadn't forgotten about me. When the grass was finally installed this afternoon, it looked gorgeous. The team even helped dig out my long-stuck back gate, and Luis was happy to give me maintenance tips aferwards. Now the yard looks beautiful. I spent the whole afternoon back there today, basking in the sun. This is something I have never done in 8 years of living here. Thanks to Jim, Luis, and the entire team, my new yard is a gift I'm looking forward to enjoying for a long time. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Jim's crew arrived an hour ahead of schedule. Jim arrived two hours later. The team worked diligently for over 3 hours. They did a solid job of clearing out weeds and making the yard more presentable; I was pleased that they were able to pressure wash our street strip and clear the underlying brick of accumulated sediment and weeds. Jim's crew provided a hauling service ($100 charge included in the Actual Price Paid) and removed most of the debris removed from the backyard.

Jim and his team were extremely proactive in reaching out to me and working with me to get the work done quickly and efficiently. They were willing to work Sunday, which was fantastic for my work schedule. They called several times to make sure that they had the time and directions right, and to make sure they understood the scope of the work they were going to do. They were also extremely upfront about cost, so I was able to budget accordingly. When they arrived onsite, they were prompt and ready to go. They had all the tools they needed to get busy right away. I walked them through my front and back yard, and Jim/Steve/Terri gave me ideas of what they thought they could accomplish during the time frame, and asked for my input. The backyard was a mess - it needed a lot of TLC to get the weeds taken care of, and they ripped through it. With about an hour left to go, Jim and I walked through the property and talked about next steps. He and his team are working with me creatively to help transform the space into something more usable and beautiful, and once again, they were very open to working around my schedule. They were also patient with me not knowing 'exactly' what I wanted, and were really helpful in throwing out some ideas that drove the direction we're taking with the backyard. They gave me a list of things that I can get in advance to cut down on some of the costs, which I really appreciate. Not only that, but Jim threw in an extra hour of time which allowed his team to make sure the space was tidied up and looking its best. Jim, Steve, Terri, and their guys clearly take pride in the work they do, and in making sure they exceed their clients' expectations. I'm looking forward to continuing to work with them to transform my landscape, and would happily recommend them to my friends.

They cleared my front yard of weeds and top dirt and rocks. They then laid down red bricks for the boarder, and a black lining to keep the weeds from coming up. They then laid down red bark and filled the flower pots with tropicanna, ornamenta grass, lantana, zinnias, marigold, lavender, coleus, dianthus, and,petunia flowers. They also cut back the tree on my patio, cleared off the old dirt, and laid down the same materials as the front. They put the last of the flowers on the patio.

Jim and his crew did a great job in cleaning out the weeds, thorny blackberry vines, ivy and a hugh cactus out of my mother's backyard. The yard was very overgrown and intimidating. He gave good advice and suggestions on how to maintain the yard, which I found very helpful.

Jim and his three employees did an exceptional job with the yard work and the work in front of my house. Jim phoned me right away after I had set the appointment. He wanted to do the work the same day I had spoken to him but I needed to schedule it for later in the week. There was no problem scheduling the day that I wanted. Jim always answered the phone right away when I phoned him. They arrived an hour early on that day but had to come back within the scheduled time to start the job. Jim estimated that it would take four hours to do the job at $150.00 per hour. He explained to me what I could do with the yard besides weeding it and how I can make the weeds return more slowly and make the grass more greener. He was able to layout a creative design for my backyard by using some left over materials that I already had. They were always working except when they had to break for lunch. Jim gave me a free power wash for the concrete section in my yard. Normally, he charges $100.00 for this service. It took about 5 hours including their break time to complete the job. I was told after the job was completed that I would be charged $150.00 to haul away all the weeds and part of a dead tree in a large van which they had been filling while they were working. They swept the area in my backyard, garage,and front sidewalk after they had finished. They made sure everything was clean. They were all nice, polite, and professional while doing this job.

Work not performed yet, Working on a date that fits my schedule. Jim showed up on time to give an onsite estimate, discussed several options that I had not thought about, was excited about improving the property.
